Andrew Semple (Lobsang Tenzin) — known to many as The Wandering Artist — is a multidisciplinary creator whose life and art are inextricably linked to his search for meaning. Painter, photographer, filmmaker, sculptor, and philosopher, his creative path has spanned decades, continents, and forms — from the bright lights of European fashion to the tranquil peaks of the Himalayas.
Fashion and blockbuster movies

Born in Montreal and based in Vancouver, Andrew has lived a life steeped in visual storytelling. Early in his career, he traveled the world as a cameraman and photojournalist before turning his lens toward the fashion elite, capturing backstage intimacy and cinematic beauty for Vogue, Elle, and Madame Figaro. His eye for emotion and gesture later led him into film, where his sculptural works appeared in blockbusters including 300, Night at the Museum, and The Day After Tomorrow.
After overcoming a life-threatening illness, Andrew began to seek a quieter form of creation — one that joined spirit and expression. His journey led him down a spiritual path, given the name Lobsang Tenzin, a path that would bring him to the Kingdom of Bhutan. His time spent contributing to arts practices with monks and teachers close to the Dalai Lama transformed his worldview, the projects he worked on, and the way he created and painted.

The hummingbird — his enduring symbol — emerged from this transformation. Painted spontaneously on the streets of Vancouver, each watercolor carries both the lightness of flight and the depth of reflection. His handwritten quotes, at once playful and profound, distill the essence of a lifetime devoted to art, gratitude, and awakening. Every phrase feels like a gentle whisper from the universe; every brushstroke, a meditation in motion.
Today, Andrew’s works continue to inspire collectors and passersby alike. What began as street art has become a living philosophy — a celebration of love, humor, and resilience. Through Bromont Media’s exclusive collection, The Wandering Artist invites us all to pause, smile, and rediscover the beauty of simply being alive.
